The Kids

Over the past 3 years, we've collected over 10,000 toys that were distributed to local children within brooklyn. we're bigger and better than ever, and this season our goal is to collect at least 10,000 toys to help make the holidays brighter for our friends and neighbors in need. help us reach our goal and join the cause!

Our Charities

We collect new, unwrapped toys for kids ages 2-13. Each year we select some different recipient organizations, with the exception of the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation, which was a driving force behind the initial idea of a toy drive. This year, we have identified the following three organizations to receive toys. NOTE: One or two more may be added.

The Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation is a New York based 501(c)(3) community service organization that provides financial and emotional support to individuals and organizations in need, and focuses particularly on the needs of children. It was founded in 1997 by boxing trainer and commentator, Teddy Atlas, in order to honor the memory of his father. In the spirit of Dr. Atlas, who provided free medical care to those who could not afford it. It has engaged in large endeavors, such as opening and operating youth boxing gyms and education centers in Brooklyn and Staten Island, creating incentive programs in schools to encourage and motivate students, and distributing turkeys on Thanksgiving and toys on Christmas to families who do not have the financial resources to properly celebrate the holidays.

Grand Street Boys is a 501(c)(3) organization and operates under the leadership and hard work of volunteers. Based out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Grand Street Boys started its work in 1920 as an organization that helped often marginalized NYC youth by providing scholarships, mentoring, and athletic programs. Today, Grand Street Boys continues the work of serving NYC youth and seniors by sponsoring soup kitchens, organizing the "Turkey Fried Mission”—where they fry and deliver turkey’s to the hungry on Thanksgiving, and hosting a holiday party for the children of Greenpoint, Williamsburg and Bushwick.

Outreach is a 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 1980 with a staff of 3 to encourage local community residents to seek help for substance abuse. Today, with a staff of over 250 employees, Outreach continues to offer state-of-theart intervention, rehabilitation and training programs at seven locations in New York City and on Long Island. Among their many programs is special programming for adolescents starting as young as 12 years old. Outreach offers vocational counseling, social field trips and nursing assessments—giving youth who struggle with traditional school settings the opportunity to thrive.
